The costumers dress and accessorize all the performers in a production. Costumes are usually pulled from stock storage or built in our costume shop. Volunteers should have a working knowledge of hand sewing or machine sewing and be able to work with a variety of materials. Those with experience in home decorating may help with curtains and upholstery in conjunction with the props crew. Work times vary during weekdays and evenings when staff is available.
Costumers:
• Assist with the construction and sewing of new costumes
• Sew hems and rip seams as needed
• Sew notions needed in a garment (zippers, buttons, snaps, etc.)
• Repair garments
• Iron costumes as needed
• Help maintain storage and organization of costumes
