EXPRESS ENTERTAINMENT
has been presenting audience-participation murder mystery dinner theatre events since 1998 as the adult fundraising arm of the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre. We use paid adult actors to present the highest quality performance for your event.

EXPRESS ENTERTAINMENT
will work with you to personalize our shows for your event by including local references, names of guests and “in” jokes in the text of the script. Each event works best when incorporated with a meal but shows can be adapted to fit almost any situation. We’ll adapt to your location, time frame and purpose of the event.

EXPRESS ENTERTAINMENT
is committed to providing you and your guests with a unique evening of quality entertainment. We’ll help you make the event you planned the one they talk about for years after!

A TYPICAL EVENT.....

PRELUDE TO MURDER
Before the event, we provide you with a basic outline and ideas for teasers, invitations and newsletters. We'll work with you to design a timetable for the event. The evening will begin as the guests enter. Actors, in character, will mingle with your guests during the cocktail hour and the "show" will start shortly before dinner is served.

THE DASTARDLY DEED
Unlike traditional dinner theater, sections of the play are presented between courses. A typical format would be Cocktails and Mingling; Welcome; Salads served; Play continues; Dinner served; A Murder or Two Occurs; Suspect Interrogation; Dessert and Deliberations; Confessions. During the sections of the play characters are developed, relationships established, clues dropped and, of course, a murder or two occurs!

THE CLUE HUNT
This part of the evening is most adaptable. The search for physical evidence can be as simple as distributing clues to the tables or as involved as a madcap search of the premises, or anything in between! Once clues are discovered, the amateur detectives get to interrogate the suspects and vote on "who dun it."

THE SOLUTION
Once the guests have voted, a confession scene is played (usually including a surprise or two!) Since the audience votes, all suspects are fair game, and the suspects don't know the ending of the show until the audience does. The show will be different each time it's performed! If desired, prizes can be awarded to those guests who picked the correct murderer or offer the most unusual solution!
